Akumu says-

Power Blade is, in my honest opinion, one of the top 5 NES games ever created.

The reason I say this is the perfect blend that this game has, the action, spot on controls, great graphics and strongest of all, amazing soundtrack. ‘Cause you see, I think Power Blade’s soundtrack is actually the strongest NES soundtrack composed.

Yeah you read right,

NSF Akumu, the guy that have heard every nsf there is, and loves NES music above all else, just said Power Blade is the best soundtrack on NES.

Each stage has such a strong theme that you are bound to be bouncing your buns on your chair. It’s like a Mega Man/Batman/Castlevania mix set to a Mega Man/Castlevania like game.

The soundtrack was composed by Kinuyo Yamashita, who did Castlevania 1 (as James Banana), Mega Man X3 and Parodius.

Power Blade started out as Power Blazer in Japan, but because of slugish controls it did not sell well and was quickly forgotten. However Taito decided to release it in the west, but make it more manly and appealing. The controls were cleaned up, graphics updated, the hero was changed from a generic anime boy into a Arnold/Vanilla Ice hybrid made for men, and all levels were redesigned and added multiple paths. Every single aspect of Power Blazer was made better for it’s western release, and what we got was a solid NES classic, sadly overlooked by many, possibly because SNES was just around the corner.

I’d say the best tracks are Sector 1 and 2.

So please, enjoy!
