Savage. Where do I begin with this one?
I first came across this music when a youtube link was posted on the Metroid Metal forum, declaring the Level 1 music as an example of both the best and worst game music of all time.
Adding to the zanyness, I found some questionable samples hidden within the game music. In the level 2 music, I could have sworn I was hearing the words “blow job” stuck in there. Sure enough, the mod files allowed me to isolate those samples, and the fifth track is just me playing back what I found at various pitches.

I’ve heard some backwards talking stuck into Amiga music before, but this is the first time I’ve encountered something that actually wound up being inappropriate when examined.

My friend Audun “Akumu”, of Akumu’s nsf archive, is going to be helping me out with album art. Instead of the random screenshots I’ve been using, he came up with something nicer. For future uploads you’ll have his covers included in the zip/rar. For older soundtracks, you can download and replace the covers individually if you’re interested. I’ll post a zip for all the replacements as soon as they’re ready.
