ALMANA NO KISEKI (NES)

Track 4
Track 5
Released by Konami in 1987, Almana no Kiseki is a Japanese platformer reminiscent of Indiana Jones. Made for the external Famicom Disk System, a peripheral never seen on the American NES, this soundtrack makes use of an extra sound channel which is almost FM-like in quality.

CRISIS FORCE (NES)
12 tracks, 12:19. Samples-
Stages 1 & 6
Stages 2 & 5
Stage 4
Crisis Force is an overhead shmup from 1991. This game boasts a very bombastic and fast paced soundtrack. Alongside Contra and some others, I consider the music from this game to be one of Konami’s more notably “aggressive” efforts.
The nsf from which I ripped this credits the composers as K. Matsubara, Y. Manno, and J. Chuuma.

TREASURE MASTER (NES)
7 tracks, 16:43. Samples-
World 2 (The Moon)
World 4
Part of a contest involving MTV sponsored giveaways, Treasure Master is a Nintendo platformer published by American Softworks. The music is distinguished by its overall sound, which is recognizable amongst other NES soundtracks by Tim Follin like the Silver Surfer. And the world 4 music has what sounds like birds chirping in it… I can’t say I’ve heard that from any other Nintendo song!

ZILLION (SMS)

Zillion Theme
Inside Planet
Push!
The Sega Master System title Zillion was released as a companion to the anime of the same name, in 1987. Zillion offers a brief soundtrack with several catchy tunes. The main theme is an adaptation of the cartoon show’s introduction, which can be seen here.
The vgm from which I ripped this credits the following composers: Tokuhiko Uwabo, Yoshiaki Kiuchi, Shingo Kobayashi, and Jun Irie.
